Bugnay Birth Center

In 2007 when we first opened the Abundant Grace of God Maternity Center in Tabuk City, the capitol of Kalinga, we had hoped that the women from the far-flung areas would also travel to our clinic and deliver with us. While many of them did, we felt that because the clinic was so far from where they actually lived that we were unable to provide comprehensive care for these particular mothers and families.

With this in mind, in May of 2012 we sent midwives from our head clinic in Tabuk City to the mountains of Bugnay, Tinglayan to start a sister clinic.

This clinic, “Lajad Apodios” (“Abundant Grace of God” in Butbut dialect) is staffed 24/7 with licensed and well-trained midwives just like our main clinic in Tabuk CIty. They serve the five surrounding villages with prenatal care, labor and delivery services as well as continued postpartum care and Well-Baby Seminars.  Along with maternity care the staff ends up doing lots of Primary Health Care and emergency care. They are one hour away from the closest hospital and so the staff needs to be well-trained and able to make split decisions when dealing with emergencies.

Our Bugnay Birth Center is one of the most important things we do!

Please pray for the staff in Bugnay that they will be protected and given wisdom in dealing with all the emergencies and deliveries that God sends them.
